  • Arrival at Catania airport. Transfer to Wine Hotel on Mount Etna. Meeting with the Scilio family, to visit the vineyard, the old palmento (milestone) and the barrique, than you will taste their best wine and a delicious red passito of Etna. Dinner and overnight stay.

  • Day 2/ Mount Etna and Etna Wines (B, L)
  • Breakfast at Wine hotel. Pick up by your naturalistic driver guide and explore the Volcano Etna, the largest active volcano in Europe, and admire a unique combination of nature and the uncontrollable essence of fire. Lunch will be served at Cottanera Winery with its pioneer viticulture, it is today one of the most extraordinary companies in Italian and International enology. Then transfer to Passopisciaro Winery to discover one of the best boutique wineries of Mount Etna! Return at Wine hotel.

  • Day 3 / Taormina (B)
  • Pick up and transfer to Taormina to visit with a local guide its Greco-Roman amphitheater. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy the chic boutiques, bustling cafes and restaurants. Lunch and dinner are at leisure. Overnight stay.

  • Day 4/ Siracusa and Noto (B, L, D)
  • Breakfast in hotel. Pick up and drive to Siracusa, a window into the ancient history of the Mediterranean. Guided tour. Lunch in an amazing historic “Salumeria” located in Ortigia. In the afternoon a tour of Noto, one of Sicily’s most beautiful baroque cities, where we will meet Corrado Assenza, the master of all Sicilian pastry chefs, who will delight us with his amazing and unique pastry creations. Arrive at wine hotel in Ragusa Area. Dinner with wine tasting.

  • Day 5/ Ragusa and Modica: Baroque and Chocolate (B, L)
  • Breakfast. This morning we visit the Gulfi Winery. “Naturalness” characterizes their wines, which are the fruit of traditional and organic winegrowing and non-invasive vinification. Then drive to Vittoria to visit the Cos Winery, they decided to adopt the principles of biodynamic culture and this decision helped the owners find and keep a harmonious balance with nature. During the afternoon guided tour of Ragusa Ibla and Modica the second of the three Spanish Baroque cities (the other being Noto) for chocolate tasting at Antica Dolceria Bonajuto. Return and overnight stay.

  • Day 6/ Sicilian Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Valley of The Temples (B, L, D)
  • Breakfast in hotel and check out. Visitan exclusive Olive Estate, stands out among the colors and fragrances of the great olive grove which surrounds it.   • The tour begins in the south-central part of the island. Our fist stop, and our home for the first four nights is Rocco Forte Verdura Golf & Spa Resort. Located on the rocky coastline of southern Sicily, Verdura Golf & Spa Resort is an oasis amidst olive and orange groves. The only true 5-star resort in Sicily that includes golf courses, a private beach, and a spa, Verdura is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World. The hotel’s architecture strikes a compelling blend of stark, modern architecture and minimalist design with the old-world style of Sicily. Our kickoff dinner will be held at the Verdura’s exquisite beachfront seafood restaurant, Amare.

  • Enjoy the amenities, pool, golf courses, spa or beach of the hotel on Day 2. In the late afternoon, we will visit Selinunte, Europe’s largest archaeological park, and then on to Planeta winery in Sambuca di Sicilia, one of the most beautiful vineyards in all of Sicily. We will have our first wine tasting with dinner at Planeta.

  • Day 3 is centered on gastronomy, both traditional and avant-garde. First, we will visit Mandranova Estate to sample their olive oil and other traditional ingredients and products that are produced on the farm. We will then head for Licata for lunch at two Michelin-starred La Madia, for a grand feast prepared by the highly decorated Chef Pino Cuttaia. We return to Verdura Resort, sated and happy that our evening plans allow us to rest and relax.

  • Day 4 takes us to Agrigento to visit The Valley of the Temples, Sicily’s premier archaeological park with its stunning Temple of Concord, among others. Lunch and a wine tasting of local, highly rated wines will be at a special location overlooking the temples. We then arrive at Regaleali Estate in the late afternoon, in time for dinner al fresco. The Tasca family will host us for two nights at their historic Regaleali Estate where they lavish care on their guests by sharing their history, wine, and authentic Sicilian cuisine. Dinner includes a tasting of some of Tasca d’Almerita’s 30 wines that come from five different estates throughout Sicily.

  • We will spend Day 5 at Regaleali Estate. After breakfast, we head over to Case Vecchie, the Tasca family’s cooking school, where Fabrizia Lanza, daughter of renowned founder and cookbook author Anna Tasca Lanza, will teach us how to prepare traditional Sicilian dishes that are made from the pristine ingredients from the estate. A proper wine tasting will follow in the late afternoon at the heart of the Tasca d’Almerita wine production. A sunset dinner on the estate, prepared by Regaleali’s talented chefs, completes the perfect day.

  • On Day 6, we head east to Sicily’s most famous –and fabled- resort town, Taormina, with its spectacular views of smoldering Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea. In Taormina we will stay at Belmond Grand Hotel Timeo, a historical luxury hotel in the center of town. Before arriving in Taormina, we will visit our last winery at Benanti, set on a 100-acre estate on lava soil on the slopes of Mt. Etna.

  • Day 7 is our very last day in Taormina and in Sicily and you will be free to explore the town and to bask in the sun either poolside or down on the beach. A final dinner will bring to a close a magical week with Etna as our backdrop.

  • Day 1 Welcome in Sicily
  • Private transfer from the airport to your hotel in Palermo. This afternoon, we’ll explore the city on foot. Overnight stay in classic room.

  • Day 2 Cooking class and Palermo’s Food Market (B, L)
  • Breakfast in hotel. In the morning the Duchess of Palma, Nicoletta will take you to the Capo Market, a colorful local open-air market to buy fresh seasonal ingredients. It will be a fascinating journey through Sicilian culture and a chance to discover some hidden treasures of Palermo. The cooking class is held in an extraordinary location, an 18th century palace by the sea. After lunch in the elegant dining room with the Duchess and her family, there will be a tour of the lush terrace and of the beautifully restored palace, the last home of Prince Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, author of the world-famous novel “Il Gattopardo”. Later in the afternoon a local guide will take you on a tour of Palermo. In the afternoon, enjoy a tour of Monreale. Dinner at leisure and overnight stay.

  • Day 3 The Salt Road and Marsala Wines (B, Wine and Pastry Tasting)
  • This morning we’ll drive out to the Salt Pans located on the coastline between the cities of Trapani and Marsala. Locals extract the salt from the seawater following the same procedure used by the ancient Greeks and Phoenicians who once colonized this part of the Sicily. Later in the afternoon, we’ll visit Erice, a wonderful and mysterious medieval town made famous in ancient times as the birthplace of Venus. Stopping at the world famous pastry shop by Maria Grammatico, here we will taste almond sweets, genovesi and nougat to match with Marsala wine. Return in Palermo and overnight stay.

  • Day 4 Sicilian Wines and Valley of The Temples (B, L, D Olive Oil & Wine tasting)
  • Today we leave for Sambuca di Sicilia, to visit the famous Planeta winery, founded in 1995 on the banks of Lake Arancio and is surrounded by vineyards and a native olive tree grove. We’ll taste four different wines during a typical Sicilian lunch. Leaving for Agrigento where we will meet our guide who will take us to Agrigento to visit the Valley of the Temples. Then we’ll transfer to our Luxury Olive Estate for a three night stay. The farm stands out among the colors and fragrances of the immense olive groves which surround it. Overnight stay.

  • Day 5 Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Olive Harvest* (B, L, D)
  • Breakfast with traditional food. In Sicily, the olive harvest begins in late autumn when the olives are mature but still green. They are picked by hand or with the aid of a baton. This is a very characteristic scene that will whisk you back to ancient times. Nets are placed under the trees, and baskets are brought to collect the olives using traditional techniques. In the afternoon you will bring olives to the oil press where you can see how oil is produced. Your work is rewarded with a tasting of oil with bread, garlic and oregano. Lunch at country house. At 4:00 p.m. we’ll enjoy a cooking lesson and you will learn how to prepare “anelletti al forno” with eggplant, sauce, and fresh basil. We will also cook, in various ways, some typical Sicilian vegetables. We’ll also prepare the polpettone di carne (meatloaf) and a vegetable side dish with ingredients harvested from the garden.   • Day 6 The Truth Sicily: Sicilian Coutry life with Pizza lesson (B, L, Tastings)
  • Breakfast with traditional foods. Departure for the nearby village Sant’Angelo Muxaro for a cooking class in a typical private country house to learn how to prepare Sicilian bread and pizza (sfincione) In the afternoon an archaeological walk with our local Tour Guide through the countryside and its magnificent nature, to visit the largest and oldest Tholos Tomb in Sicily (300 B.C.).

  • Day 7 Baroque, Aromatic Herbs and Sicilian Chocolate (B, L, Tastings)
  • Breakfast and transfer to eastern Sicily through the Baroque, whose heritage, both for importance and for beauty, has been declared World Heritage by the UNESCO. In the morning you will visit Ragusa Ibla and then Modica where admire picturesque lanes and arrows streets. Visit the Antica Dolceria Bonajuto, with the owner Pierpaolo Ruta to discover the secrets of Modican Chocolate. Before to arrive at your hotel we will visit the Aromi Farm for an interesting Aromatic Herbs tasting.

  • Day 8 Siracusa, Noto and Sicilian Sweets (B, Tastings)
  • In the early morning we’ll set off for Noto, once destroyed by earthquake and now one of Sicily’s most beautiful baroque cities. There we will meet with master confectioner Corrado Assenza who will dazzle us with a tasting of his many products (ice creams, jams, sauces) and serve us lunch combining all of these with exciting flavors. Leaving for Siracusa, a formidable seafaring power nearly equal to Athens. Drive to Taormina and overnight stay.

  • Day 9 Cooking on Mount Etna at La Cucina del Sole (B, L, Honey Tasting)
  • This morning we make our way to Viagrande admiring the Volcano Landscape. Here we’ll meet Monica Consoli in her La Cucina del Sole (The Sun’s Kitchen). She will lead a hands-on cooking class, featuring several classic Sicilian dishes including appetizers. After lunch we will visit the Honey house to taste very special Honey from the Volcano Area and then back in Taormina for a visit on your own of the city centre. Overnight stay.

  • Arrival at Palermo airport. Meet your driver and guide and start your adventure! You’ll be enchanted by Palermo’s wide boulevards, traditional Sicilian Old Quarter, and baroque palaces, the food market of “Capo”, typical par excellence, full of colour and folkloric. Here you will taste typical street food such as “pani ca meusa”, “panelled”, “arancini”…Lunch at leisure. Then you’ll discover the Arab-Norman magnificence of the Monreale Cathedral, before to leave to the Regaleali, Tasca D’Almerita Wine Estate, one of the most important wine-producing estates in Sicily and here Fabrizia Tasca Lanza, the cooking teacher and cookbook author, conducts cooking classes, as she has for more than 15 years, at Casa Vecchie, in the middle of the vineyards. Dinner and overnight stay.

  • Day 2 (B, L, D)
  • Breakfast in the kitchen. Today Fabrizia Tasca will share her knowledge of local cuisine and its history and you will learn how to prepare the caponata,arancini and cannoli with ricotta cheese. Lunch is included. In the afternoon you will explore the countryside and enjoy the vineyards. A look at the wine cellars of Regaleali with her immense barrels and tasting of the various wines will accompany the dinner. Overnight stay.

  • Day 3 (B)
  • Breakfast and departure for Agrigento to visit the beautiful Valley of the Temples. Lunch will be served at the Mandranova Olive Estate situated in the surroundings of Agrigento Visit the oil press and have a professional Olive Oil Tasting during the dinner.

  • Day 4 (B,D)
  • Breakfast and transfer to Piazza Armerina where you’ll view the extraordinary floor mosaics in the Roman Villa del Casale. Visit Caltagirone whose ceramics are a symbol of Sicily and enjoy shopping! Transfer to Siracusa and overnight stay.

  • Day 5 (B, L, D)
  • Breakfast and visit of the city. Meet Mrs Fiora to enjoy a wonderful visit at the Historical Ortigia Food Market followed by a funny cooking class at her home. Lunch is included. During the afternoon meet a private guide to visit the Siracusa and Noto, the capital of Baroque in Sicily.

  • Day 6 (B)
  • Breakfast and departure for Catania, this city is dramatically situated between the Ionian Sea and the looming bulk of Mount Etna, so it often rains ash upon its streets. You will visit its impressive Duomo and experience the city’s strong personality during a visit to its ebullient Pescheria, the daily fish and vegetable market. Drive to the famous Cyclops Coast through Acireale, its most important town, and Acicastello. Accommodation in a luxury farm on Mount Etna.

  • Day 7 (B, L)
  • Breakfast in hotel. Meet your private naturalistic guide as driver and explore the Etna Volcano. Lunch will be served in a local winery. Afternoon at leisure to visit of Taormina Sicily’s most famous city. Overnight stay.

You will see foods you have never seen before! After lunch, meet your local guide visit the most important monuments of Palermo and Monreale.

  • Breakfast and departure for Castelvetrano , and arrive at Tenuta Pignatelli the best important Extravirgin olive oil in Sicily. Have a interesting cooking class and then visit the Olive Estate. Enjoy you lunch in a wonderful garden. During the afternoon you will visit on your own Selinunte Park, the biggest archeological park in Sicily. Return in Palermo and overnight stay.

  • Breakfast in hotel and check out . Arrive at 10:00 a.m. in a beautiful country between Palermo and Agrigento, to one of the most important wine-producing estates in Sicily. Our cooking teacher and cookbook author, Fabrizia lanza conducts cooking classes, as she has for more than 15 years, at Casa Vecchie, in the middle of the vineyards. Pizza Cooking class and lunch. During the afternoon you will visit the estate for a wine tasting. Arrive in the afternoon in Taormina.

  • Breakfast in hotel and meet Pietro D’Agostino at his 1* Michelin Restaurant La Capinera. Cooking class with lunch. During the afternoon you will be free to visit Taormina on your own, walk through the historical centre of this beautiful town, famous for its Greek-Roman Amphitheatre. Dinner on your own. Overnight stay.

  • Breakfast in hotel and departure for Siracusa, meet Fiora Piaccione and visit the Old Ortigia Food Market and have a funny cooking class at her restaurant. Lunch with Fiora and then free time to visit Siracusa. Until the Arab conquest of 878, the city was the capital of Sicily. It was by far the most important city on the island. You will visit on your own the Ear of Dyonisus, the Greek Theatre, the Altare di Ierone. Walk through the historical centre on the Ortigia Island to admire the Cathedral, constructed over the ancient Temple of Athena, the Aretusa fountain and the ancient streets. Return in Taormina and overnight stay.
